Part Number: ADS7953EVM-PDK Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO Tool/software: Hi, I am having issues installing drivers for the ADS7953EM-PDK. The board that I have is based on MMB0 BOM ref F hardware rev D. When installing ADCpro version 2.0 (the most recent) the board is not recognized by the computer , I see only unknown device. I have tried with windows 10 as well windows 7, the same problem. There is no drivers installed in the ADCpro folder. Please can you help me out resolving this issue? thanks Naji

Forum Post: RE: ADS124S08: Issue with noise performance between REF0 and REF1 when reading RTDs
Hi Berrie Dirks, Can you try disabling (opening) the powerdown switch that is connected to REFN0? It serves no purpose to be closed since you have REFN0 connected directly to ground anyway. This is the only difference I see in your circuit compared to REFx1 -Bryan

Hi Juan B, What SCLK and CLK frequencies are you using? -Bryan
↧
Forum Post: RE: ADS1258: ADS1258 Register Write command Problem, configuring registers
Hi CLK = 16 MHz SCLK = 10 MHz For update, I realize that the ADC is configured wrong because I am using the Auto-Scan mode where I see that having 1 channel active the ADC sampling frequency is 23.739 kHz, and when I try to configure it as I want it and when it is configured wrong I get less sampled points in the same signal, so I conclude that the sampling frequency changed and I conclude that it is because more channels were activated for conversion.

Forum Post: RE: ADS1258: ADS1258 Register Write command Problem, configuring registers
Hi Juan B, Thanks for providing this info. You need to review the timing info in the ADS1258 datasheet, see below The SCLK speed must be <1/2 of CLK. And the CS period must follow the same restriction. The CS pulse you are showing in one of your previous images is definitely less than the SCLK period, which is already too short -Bryan

Forum Post: ADS1291: nRESET transition rate
Part Number: ADS1291 Tool/software: I would like to know if there are any restrictions on the nRESET signal transition rate. We'd like to apply an RC filter to this input to help clean up some interference picked up on an interconnect. The datasheet is not clear about this. According to Fig 72 and Table 29, the reset pulse width needs to be more than 1 tmod (about 8us for internal clock). Our design meets that. It does not state anything about the rate of change. An RC filter would provide a slower edge to this signal than a logic gate for example. What limit should I apply for transition rate?

Hi Gregory, It can be found in the Order & start development section of the ADS122C04EVM page. ADS122C04EVM Evaluation board | TI.com When you click download it will prompt you to login and ask a few questions. Once you do that, you will be given a link to download the ADS122C04-DVCPKG. Hi Hector, If neither the DAC or light sensor ACK, then no device should be pulling the SDA line low. Best, Katlynne Jones

Forum Post: RE: ADS127L11: Differential OPAMP suggestion
Hello Iouri, Please take a look at the THP210. This FDA has very good low noise performance and excellent DC specs. We have an application note using the THP210 with the ADS127L11 that may be interesting as well. https://www.ti.com/lit/ab/sboa546/sboa546.pdf If you need adjustable gain in your system, the PGA855 has a similar front-end as the THP210 with multiple gain options. Another option is the THS4551 (used on the evaluation board). This amplifier has better SNR and THD at higher input frequency, but is not as low noise below 1kHz as the THP210. Forum Post: RE: ADS1291: nRESET transition rate
Hi Nate, Thank you for your post. We do not have strict rise/fall time requirements on any digital I/O signals in the ADS129x family as the SPI transactions generally occur at relatively low speeds. For nRESET, all that is required is that the low logic low voltage threshold be satisfied for at least one modulator clock cycle, such that it can be read and latched on the next clock edge. I would think adding an RC to this pin would be fine, so long as the I/O logic thresholds are met for the minimum duration. Adding some margin to the nRESET low time will not hurt. When the device comes out of reset, an excessively slow rising edge on nRESET will make it less clear when to begin counting the 18*tCLK delay before using the device. Adding some margin here should be good enough to ensure the device is ready for communication following a pin reset. Regards, Ryan

Forum Post: RE: ADS127L21B: Is there any better ADC concerning INL?
Hello Kaufmann, We just released the ADS127L21B, and to the best of my knowledge, this is TI's best precision ADC for linearity. Are you looking for a lower INL specification, or an equivalent INL over a wider temperature range, or both? As you noted, the ADS127L21B already has very good INL specified over different temperature ranges. Regards, Keith Nicholas Precision ADC Applications

Forum Post: RE: ADC08L060: Clock input voltage/sensitivity for VDR=1.8V?
Per page 1 (and multiple other places in the datasheet) the ADC08L060 is designed to work directly with 1.8V logic. See attached picture. I believe the confusion is that the ADC08 L 060 was originally based on a 3.3V-only part, the ADC08060, and the datasheet was never fully or correctly updated for 1.8V logic. There are other posts in this forum that point out, for example, the conflicting information in the Operating Ratings for VDR on page 4, as pointed out in the "Driving voltages at 1.8V allowed?" post. I could level-convert my 1.8V logic to 3.3V to drive the ADC, however, it would likely be destructive to drive this input at 3.3V if the logic reference for it is VDR=1.8V...

Forum Post: RE: ADS1258: ADS1258 Register Write command Problem, configuring registers
Hi Bryan I realize that I did not take into account these restrictions... I will try to apply them and analyze the operation. Thank you very much, according to the results I will ask again. On the other hand, taking advantage of the open forum space, is there any way to know how a specific register is configured... for example I configure the MUXSG0 register as “10000001”, I want to see that configuration so I guess I should send a command for this with the register address, hoping that what I get back is that “10000001”... I am not sure if it is the Register Read Command = “010” having as Command “01000100”

Hi Juan B Please refer to Table 14 in the ADS1258 datasheet for instructions about commands, specifically the "Register Read Command" Also, can you please start a new thread if your questions are unrelated to the original topic? This way if anyone has a similar question in the future they will be able to find it easier -Bryan
