Hello Thomas, Can you send a picture of your schematic that shows the input connections for the reference and analog inputs? In general, if you are using cables to connect external sensors, then you will need additional filtering on both the reference input pins and the analog input pins of the ADS1230. The ADS1232REF board has a similar input and reference stage as the ADS1230, and you can use the schematic as a guideline for additional filtering, if you do not already have this on your board. https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sbau120b/sbau120b.pdf A good LDO like TPS7A20 with high PSRR may also help if the noise is from the power supply. Also, as a quick check, disconnect the external sensor and short the inputs together at mid-supply. The ADS1232REF board uses a 20k resistor divider to create the midpoint supply. Then verify the noise performance in this configuration. Regards, Keith Nicholas Precision ADC Applications

Forum Post: RE: ADS1115: ADS1115 3 out of 4 channels steady readings but the 4th has too much noise
Hi. Part of what I was wondering was if the register settings I am using is correct and in the right sequence. I have changed the register settings from 0x42 / 0x52 / 0x62 0x72 ( With the 0x83 standard half of the register as well ) to / 0xC3 / 0xD3 / 0xE3 / 0xF3 this should tell it to use single shot mode and stay in power down mode but I get way more noise with these Reg values than the first option in continues mode, and again when I only read from one channel then it reads perfectly stable. The noise with these settings is across all channels, not only one.

Forum Post: RE: DAC38RF85: Search for a 100 MHz clock generator with 10 MHz reference
Hi Kadeem, Thanks for these measurements. As you mentioned, the close-in phase noise depends on the phase noise of the 10 MHz reference. Do you have phase noise of the reference used for the first measurement ? Or, are you able to simulate the phase noise results using a 10 reference with the following phase noise ? -95 dBc/Hz @ 1 Hz -115 dBc/Hz @ 10 Hz -145 dBc/Hz @ 100 Hz -155 dBc/Hz @ 1 kHz To answer to your last question, the phase noise requirement comes from our needs for the generated signals at the output of the DAC according to the DVB standard. It is not a requirement of the DAC chip itself. Thanks, Alain

Hi Ryan, Thank you for your detailed answer Could you please elaborate more on the case of open circuit (when the leads are not connected at all)? Would we have a signal which is bigger or smaller that high Lead impedance connected? I also noticed that using BIAS to reference the signal to appx zero is required. Could you explain what will happen if BIAS is not used ? Best regards, Ilan

Forum Post: RE: ADC08D1000: Regarding FSR/ECE pin, H/L voltage levels and the timing at power-on
HI Rob, Thank you for your reply. I understand that the waveform exceeds the operating voltage range of the VA, and in that case problems may occur when powering it on or shutting it down. I'll share the information with the customer. On the other hand, the customer has additional questions. Could you please advise? --- We've been rechecking the datasheet and am investigating the possibility that it may be operating in extended control mode. From the datasheet, p. 5, Pin Descriptions When the FSR/ECE pin (pin 14) is at a voltage equal to VA/2, it operates in extended control mode. Is there a possibility that the VA power waveform I sent the other day will operate in extended control mode? If there is a possibility that it will operate in extended control mode, - Floating or a voltage equal to VA/2 → What is the exact voltage range? - How long after the ADC starts operating will it check the terminal state of pin 14 to determine the mode? ーーー I appreciate your great help and cooperation. Best regards, Shinichi
