Forum Post: DAC 8728 always outputs 7V.

I am using a DAC 8728.
http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/dac8728.pdf

I am connecting to it via a pic 32. I have been able to get the GPIO pin to work and even write to/read from the DAC registers. However, when I latch in the data, the DAC always outputs 7 volts, regardless of what I send it. I have been able to read the DAC registers and confirm that I am properly sending the data. Whenever I start the device, it outputs 0 V. Then I'll write to a register and it immediately goes to 7V and won't change until I restart the device. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance,

~Warren

//Edit

Ok So I've been messing with it and found that it is actually giving some different voltages. However, the voltages range from 7.4 to 7.5 volts. It should swing from 0 to 9. So I'm still a bit confused here. Any help would be appreciated.
