Stanislav, That is correct. The ADS1299 needs to burn more power to obtain lower noise. This is the fundamental trade-off with these kinds of applications :-) Brian

Hello Luis, Thank you for all your answers. I still noticed that the comment on the PLL for the register initialization code says that it is for a rate of 88.2khz which is double of 44.1khz. I was wondering if it was just the comment that is not changed or if the code stays the same. Another thing is how do I know what the clock rate should be? I have read that the clock rate for the I2S should be 2*samplingFrequency*wordSelectPeriod, meaning if I were to want 16 bits for each data sample and a sampling frequency of 8khz, then I would have a clock rate of 512khz (word select period is twice the number of data bits if there are two channels). Is this correct? Thanks.(Please visit the site to view this file)

I replaced the USB MODEVM board with another that we had and was able to complete the steps for the revive procedure but the GUI doesn’t see the EVM. I uninstalled and reinstalled the GUI but still no dice. After rebooting DFUUSB is listed under USB controllers in device manager but no new audio devices are listed. Forum Post: ADS1255: PGA settings

Part Number: ADS1255 Hello! I have trouble with PGA settings to the desire value, during conversion. What I'm able to do is changing a PGA during measurement, in order to satisfied the large dynamic range - V to couple of uV. Till now I have successfully initialize the adc, set the data rate, pga and adc gives me the expected result. My question is how to change the PGA, if adc is already initialized. I have tried to set adc to standby mode and after wake up command initialize with different pga setting, which doesn't work. So, whats the proper way to changing pga during measurement? Thanks! Best regards, Žiga

I looked and I could not see how to do it. Can you tell me how to verify? Once again One module works and the other does not on two different computers using the same project. Thanks. Hi, Robert, You would need to verify if the USB indicator of the AIC3254 CS main window is green. This would mean that the EVM is being recognized. Additionally, you would need to go to the Register Tables and verify with the Refresh button if there are changes on the registers. If there are no changes, probably the EVM is damaged or doesn't work. If this is the case, I recommend to follow the next procedure: e2e.ti.com/.../2790.how-to-revive-a-usb-audio-evm If the EVM doesn't respond after this, please contact you TI Local Sales Representative to get information about how to proceed. Hi, Sachin, Yes, the analog microphone can be directly routed to the speaker output. You also may connect an amplifier after the analog mic if you require additional gain. Regarding you digital mic and direct speaker connection requirements, unfortunately the TLV320AIC31xx family devices that support digital mic require the DIN to work. You would need another device with different digital mic input in order to use the speaker output. You would need a device such the TLV320AIC32x4 or TLV320AIC32x2. Hello Godbole san, Since our customer necessary 750ksps , they would like to use ADS8860 instead of ADS8681 . Then they request the application note of attenuate input signal for +/-10V signal. Are there any related application note? Best Regards, Ryuji Asaka

Hi, Supritha, Are you connecting the ADCs in TDM mode? I mean, do all the ADCs share the same DOUT line (please take a look at the picture below for details)? If this is the case, you would need to ensure that the BCLK respects the following condition: You would require to add an offset and place the DOUT lines in Hi-Z when they are not in use. This is to avoid any collision between the ADCs DOUT lines. Please configure the Page 0 / Register 27 / Bit D0 as "3-stating of DOUT: enabled". Then, each ADC would need a particular offset to avoid any collision. In order to add an offset, please configure Page 0 / Register 28. Finally, which analog inputs would require at each ADC? The scripts that I shared use IN1L and IN1R as single-ended. Best regards, Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

Forum Post: DAC8750: Total output error calculation

Part Number: DAC8750 Hello, I need your help to calculate the total unadjusted error(TUE) for Iout over temperature. The TUE mentioned in the Electrical Characteristics table is +/-0.16FSR, but based on the datasheet graphs I believe the device can perform better in my application. I'm not 100% sure which graphs I need to calculate together. In my application the output range is 4-20mA, internal reference and internal Rset are used and analog Vdd is 24V. I'm looking for a maximum error over the temperature range of -20C to +65C? For example, what kind of error I can expect to see when I program the output for 20mA? I may need to implement calibration depending on the result. Thanks in advance!

Hi Uwe, nice to hear from you again. I am glad the ADS124S08 suits your application. Yes, AINCOM can be used as an IDAC output as you have shown above. Your implementation should work, but please add RC input filters for filtering and input protection purposes. Also the inputs which are used as IDAC outputs most likely need some protection in case the ADC can see any overvoltages. Gruß,

Hi, Nicole, Is it possible to read all the registers of your TLV320ADC3101 application? Could you send me the registers values to determine if it is related with a configuration issue or anything else? Thank you. Best regards, Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

Hi, Ian, Based on your observations, could you try with another signal source to determine if it could be a root cause? Do you get the same results with Audacity software? Best regards, Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

Thanks for that. The ADS8588S is a possibility and I'll take a closer look but I see it doesn't have differential inputs. Any other recommendations or is there a way to use the ADS7223 ? Thanks, Stuart

Howdy Shalini, The logic input levels are published on page 4 of the DAC8568 datasheet as "VinL" and "VinH", and are referenced in the image below. I don't believe you published AVDD information, but you can determine the levels with the multiplier in the right hand side of the table. Best Regards, Matt

Howdy Shalini, The DAC8568 and it's family is designed for single-supply operation, but a bipolar output range is also possible using the circuit found in page 47 of the datasheet. The circuits illustrated in this page gives an output voltage range of +/- Vref. However, the gain resistors can be set to alter this output range, which is shown in Equation (4) of this page. This op-amp gain stage is not included on the EVM, but can be realized on a breakout board or breadboard solution. Hope this information helps. Best Regards, Matt

Abhijeet. I'm using the AMC1100 isolation amplifiers in this application. I noticed in the AMC1100 datasheet it shows what looks like a 4-channel differential ADC. Can you tell me what that part is? Thanks, Stuart

Forum Post: DAC38J84: DAC38J84 NCO SYNC questions

Part Number: DAC38J84 Hello My questions are related to the NCO frequency update on DAC38J84 1. Can I have a deterministic latency between the SPI write to NCO freq register and the actual NCO frequency update? 2. Do I must reset the phase accumulator for the NCO frequency update, or can I update the frequency while keeping a continuous phase? 3. It's not quite clear from the datasheet - is the sif_sync a bit in register config31? Do I need to toggle it to issue a sif_sync? what's the difference between this bit and bit0 in config2? 4. Why are the LSB frequency registers of the NCO's are not AUTOSYNC but only the phase registers? Many thanks Izik
