Part Number: TX7364EVM Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TX7364 Tool/software: hi, dear experts: W e purchased a TX7364EVM development board through the official website. Recently, we have encountered some problems during the debugging process. The specific descriptions are as follows: We installed the TX7364 Demo software in accordance with the TX7364 EVM User's Guide. However, after I opened the Demo software, I couldn't find the option for the TX7364 chip in the scripts section. Also, we added the "devInit.py" file through the File subdirectory in the RUN drop-down menu, but it prompted that the hardware device could not be found. We measured the various power supplies and clocks on the board, and confirmed that all the power supplies and the 250MHz clock were working properly. Moreover, the status of the LED indicator on the board was also normal. The following is the screenshot of the interface: I'm sincerely looking forward to the experts helping me solve this problem. Thank you very much!

Sinngo, In general, a few ways to improve sensor accuracy through hardware lie in reducing noise, improving REF voltage stability, and proper calibration. I can update thread soon with more detail

Thank Tom - the situation is clear now. Data corruption is inevitable without ACK-driven SPI reads.

Update: I'm now noticing that quite a few of the registers are returning values other than what we're trying to program into them: This is a snapshot taken after the initialisation routine has been executed, and we've attempted to set JMODE to 5, JESD_EN to 1 and CAL_EN to 1. Any ideas? I have a suspicion that I'm not retrieving the values correctly, because this is old code that has had the ADC functioning correctly for a while. Thanks

Yes , we can discuss here. But I want to share the software and I want to make sure it works correctly at your end before making it public .

This data looks like in 2s complement format . Possible solution : 1 ) Change your fpga code to change this twos complement format from device to normal format 2) In the device there is option to change output format . You need to write register 4 , bit 3 to 1. (0x8 is what you need to write to enable this bit)

Forum Post: RE: AFE58JD48: Can I achieve the TGC function using DTGC?

Hi, Vcontrol block can have either analog input (ATGC mode) or digital input (DTGC) . Yes , in DTGC mode min step size is 3dB from 0 to 36dB . But the advantage here is you can eliminate noise coming from vcontrol circuit which is input to VCNTLP/M pins. In ATGC since you are giving analog input there is no step size . It is limited by analog input resolution which you can give to VCNTLP/M pins. Architecture of AFE58JD16 and AFE58JD48 is different . In AFE58JD16 there is no option for ATGC and step size of DTGC is 0.125dB. But you can vary the attenuation from 0-8db only using this . Hope this clarifies your queries .

Hi, Unfortunately AFE58JD16 does not support differential input. Internally INM bypass capacitor are used to realize HPF corner . Also if you give signal on inm pin LNA common mode is going to change and it is not designed to handle that . You can use differential to single ended converter before using AFE58JD16 . Do you see any constraint for that ?

Forum Post: DAC12DL3200: Biasing the outputs

Part Number: DAC12DL3200 Tool/software: Hi, As per the below mentioned forum we are using resistive bias circuit at the output of the DAC. https://e2e.ti.com/support/data-converters-group/data-converters/f/data-converters-forum/1365129/dac12dl3200-biasing-the-outputs?tisearch=e2e-sitesearch&keymatch=DAC12DL3200# As per the calculations shared, we connected one pullup resistor and one pulldown resistor as below. Voltage V1 is 1.8V and V2 is GND. For getting a bias voltage of 1.55V and swing of 475mV with Full scale current of 19mA, value calculated for R1 is 50 Ohms & R2 is 3600 Ohms. We mounted the same values, but when checking the DAC NCO output with different frequencies, the CM voltage and swing at the DAC output is varying. For frequency of 100MHz: CM voltage is 1.2V and swing is ~390mV. because of this my dac output is going less than the compliance range. i.e., lower voltage is at ~1 V and compliance range is 1.3V. For frequency of 200MHz: CM voltage changed to ~1.1V and swing got reduced to 200mV. In this case also my DAC output is going less than compliance range. Why are swing and common mode voltage varying from frequency to frequency? Also Vbias should be maintained at 1.55V as per the calculations? Please correct if we are missing something. Thanks in Advance.

Happy thanksgiving to your all. Additional observations are that it appears that the Alarm pin is pulled low only when more that one channel or BB-converter fails. Either that or only when a current output is failing (HSCLMP fail??) Looking forward to hear from you. BR Henrik

Part Number: ADS8686SEVM-PDK Tool/software: Hello I have read in your user guide of ADS8686SEVM-PDK that the ADC sampling ins non-coherent? is it true? This means that you are not synchronized the signal to the ADC sampling? Doesn't it affect on SNR measurement although you make windowing (7-term Blackman-Harris). Is it also work with 18 & 20 bit ADC and get accurate SNR measurement? BR David

Hi Juan B, Please refer to Table 14 in the ADS1258 datasheet for instructions about commands, specifically the "Register Read Command" The MUL bit behavior is described below. Again, please read the datasheet, many of the questions you have asked already are answered in that document. I cannot explain it any better -Bryan
