Hi Takuchi, You should be able to power up the ADC, pull the START pin high, and see DRDY toggling at ~50 Hz ( the default data rate) without doing anything else. That is the simplest test you can run, and if you don't see this behavior then you know you have an issue with either your power supply (including ground), your clock, or both Let me know if you can replicate this behavior on all 5x boards, and we can go from there. Note that the "getting hot" suggests a short or other higher than expected current draw, especially if the devices are noticeably warmer than the "good" boards. You might also check for shorts / opens / solder bridges / etc. with the boards, perhaps this is a manufacturing issue Another option to try is powering with a unipolar supply instead of a bipolar supply. A bipolar supply complicates your board, so reducing that complexity will help identify the problem. For example, if the boards work fine with a unipolar supply but not a bipolar supply, then you have an issue with the bipolar supply generation circuit -Bryan
