Thank you very much for the suggestion to check out the PurePath Console Mother Board. I've had a look through the datasheet and it does include the PCM3168A codec as you said. My only concern would be that the board's purpose seems to be for testing other EVMs.
Would the board be suitable for evaluating the codec itself? I'd hate to buy the board and find out that its implementation of the PCM3168A codec is too restricted to utilize in a more general purpose way. I guess I'd need to make sure that I'd be able to fully access the codec to be configured and managed by another dev kit. If the codec's implementation is not flexible enough to drive it from an off-board embedded system it won't be likely to work for our prototyping purposes.
Is there any way we could get this board on-loan so we could determine its suitability? We'd have no problem buying it if it would work for us, but it's tough to justify the expense without knowing for sure.
