I read SNAA074B "AN-2180 LMP90100 True Continuous Background Calibration", but some points are unclear to me. Depending on the mode, extra conversions are made automatically., but when? What happens if during a "background" conversion I start a new conversion? Is my conversion delayed, or is the background conversion canceled? The (main) datasheet states that BgcalMode2 reduces the Output Data Rate. Apparently the extra conversions are made at high speed. But when?
In the (main) datasheet, I read that background calibration is not compatible with "Single-Channel Continuous Conversion" if gain ≥ 16. Why? This information is not explained in the other datasheet. What happens if I switch the channel at each conversion, so that the assumption made is not true: "An important assumption behind this offset calibration technique is that the input is approximately DC so that any two consecutive samples can be considered to be the same"?
Thank you in advance
