Forum Post: RE: Unusual application of ADS1281EVM-PDK

Hi Perry,

Did you remove the ADS1281 from the orginal EVM board? Also, does ADCPro get to the "Connected to EVM" status?

Here are some additional ideas:

  • I would try pulling MFLAG to ground in case the DSP is monitoring that pin. That is the only pin on the I2C expander that is no longer driven, when you remove the ADS1281.

  • You have M0 pulled HIGH. That is fine as long as it is not connected to the orginal EVM board, where it is tied LOW.

  • Is everything else on the EVM (jumpers, etc) set to the default positions?

  • Also, there is an EEPROM that the DSP checks to make sure it is communicating with the ADS1281EVM. You may need to disable this. Go to the .ini file in the ADCPro folder: "C:\Program Files (x86)\ADCPro\plugins\evm\ADS1281\adcpro_evm.ini" and change the last line to "EEPROMVerify=FALSE" (in Windows 7 I have to "save as" the .ini file to the desktop then copy it back to overwrite the original .ini file.

Best regards,
Chris
