Hello Chirag, Thank you. The SOC Main or MCU peripherals are standard McSPI peripherals. You need to check the compatibility which is unlikely in case the DAC did not implement standard protocol. The question regarding usage of PRU-ICSS is to resolve this issue. Regards, Sreenivasa

Forum Post: RE: TSW3085EVM: Digital mixer and SFDR problems
Hi Kang, I did what you said. In my draft project, I want to run the digital mixer only at multiples of fs/8. I'm working with the following settings in the GUI. Eval board settings are: VCO 2400MHz, DACCLK 800 MHz, FPGA CLK 120MHZ, DAC internal pll 960MHZ, 10MHz sine tone, TRF LO 1445MHz. The image below on the left is fs/8, and on the right is the signal mixed at fs/4. I can only see a proper spectrum at fs/8. Other digital mixer settings also produce a distorted spectrum, like fs/4. What might be the cause of this? Thank you. -Yigit

Forum Post: ADS124S08: Technical Support required to find the Alternate part for ADS124S08
Part Number: ADS124S08 Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS131M08 Tool/software: Hi TI Team, We are currently using the ADS124S08 for RTD and strain gauge bridge sensor data acquisition in one of our projects. Now, we are looking to replace the ADS124S08 ADC with one that has a higher sampling rate (while keeping all the other specifications required to be the same). I explored a bit and found a part ADS131M08. However, this part doesn't have internal current source excitation. Kindly suggest a similar part with a higher sampling rate (10ksps ~ 30ksps) that supports internal current source excitation. Let me brief you on the requirements in detail as mentioned below: - Resolution: 24 bits - Sampling rate: 10ksps ~ 30ksps - Architecture: Delta Sigma ADC - Interface: SPI - Input channels: 8/12 - Required internal current source excitation. If internal current source excitation is not available, kindly suggest a way to add them externally and share the design reference. Thanks & Regards, Sahil Nayak

Forum Post: RE: AFE539A4EVM: Failing to enter PI
Good morning Katlynne, For my tests, I am aiming for 30 degrees on a TEC which requires a common mode of x1D2 for a setpoint of 2BC, or 2.31 Volts for 1.24 Volts. I am taking in a thermistor value to the ADC from the TEC which lowers as the temperature rises, and a lower Voltage from the DAC raises the temperature in my system. I set the loop polarity to true because of this. I found that changing the KP and KI will change how intensely itll rail towards the setpoint, but i won't see the DAC try to change when the ADC passes it. Changing the setpoint and common mode give similar results, but I haven't been able to find settings to see a desired PI test result to build from I appreciate any help once again, Sincerely, Kelvin De Leon

Hi Sahil Nayak, Try using the ADS1261. The feature set is almost identical to the ADS124S08 (current sources, low noise PGA, clock, reference, etc.). But this device can sample up to 40kSPS and offers 11 input channels. Let us know if you need anything else -Bryan

Forum Post: RE: AMC7836: Observed spike on DAC output
Hi Paul! The power supplies are no longer valid at power outage. The Vssth for autorange (see Table above) is -3.5V to -1.5V. When Vss ramps down from -5V to Vssth the autorange could happen if that circuit is still capable of doing smth. I'm not saying I am 100% sure this is the root cause but it is far from disproven in my view. Here are the plots of two DAC outputs on the same chip. Firstly with regualr load (33ohm + 1uF) and secondly with open load (33ohm removed).

Forum Post: RE: ADS124S08EVM: Request for EVM Design Files and Clarification on ADS124S08 Usage
Hi Manikandan Velayudham, I would start with 1kohm for the resistor, but of course this depends on how much overvoltage you need to protect against (you want to limit the current into the ADC pin to <<10mA as per the absolute max values). Ensure the IDAC compliance voltage is also met now that you will have a 1V drop across a 1k resistor using a 1mA excitation current The protection should be okay, I was just more curious why you only have protection on one of the analog input pins and not both / all -Bryan

Hello Yigit, Could you please disable clock divider sync once the TSW3085 is configured? When clock divider sync is always enabled, the FRAME signal will constantly synchronize the clock divider, and will reset the internal digital logics. Please see below app note for detail: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa584/slaa584.pdf page 26

Forum Post: RE: ADS8588SEVM-PDK: How do I use use this?
I think you have an error in your SPI formatting - from one of your screen shots the other day, I just realized you have a bit-shift issue: To deal with the binary 2s compliment data, you can take your raw ADC data and XOR it with 0x8000 (32768 decimal).

Forum Post: RE: ADS8588SEVM-PDK: How do I use use this?
The gap between the clocks is not ideal, but with some SPI peripherals, you can't get around that. Can you post the 300 conversion results shown in the graph? A .csv file works for me.

Forum Post: RE: ADS131A04: Analog front-end design for electrode signal in an electromagnetic flow meter
Hi Matin, Your schematic of the ADC looks good, I only have few suggestions: Do tie unused analog input pins to GND, see more details in the section of 10.3 What To Do and What Not To Do in ADS131A04 datasheet. You are using 1Mohm resistors in the resistor divider that can generate more noise, you can add a series resistor between C17 and R18 that can form a LPF with C17 to filter the noise from the divider. TLV333 is a chopper-stabilized op-amp and it provides low offset voltage and near zero-drift over time and temperature, but it also generates chopper switching noise, so it would be good to add a RC filter after TLV333. For the RC filter on the ADC input, t he common-mode capacitors are usually chosen to be 10x to 20x smaller than the differential capacitor to minimize the impact from the common-mode capacitors. See FAQ: Delta-sigma ADC anti-aliasing filter component selection BR, Dale

Forum Post: RE: DAC63001: Using GPIO as GPIO
Hi Kimmo, Unfortunately, the GPIO pin on this device can only be used for the predefined function. Are you using the DAC output as a DAC? If you need one DAC channel you could use the DAC63002 and use the other channel configured as a comparator to take in your digital input. The comparator output flag can be read internally so you would know if the GPIO was high or low. Best, Katlynne Jones
