Forum Post: RE: DAC8820EVM - Output voltage problem

Ok, I'll wait a couple of days.

- I´m measuring the output (EVM_OUT_0) using a multimeter/oscilloscope.

- The application is for a VCO. The Vtune port accepts an analog tuning voltage from 0 to +10 volts.

I measured again and got the following results (3.3 V for the digital inputs):

-Attachment schematic with notes of measures at each point (for better understanding).

- For 0V to +10V output, my reference is 10 V (W1 shorted pins 2-3).

  For 0V to –10V output, the reference is -10 V (W1 shorted pins 1-2).

  (Attachment updated table of results)

And in the pdf (Datasheet Dac8820evm) says that :

"...When operating in 2-quadrant mode, it is important to remember that the analog output polarity is

determined by the reference voltage input. For 0-V to +10-V output, the reference must be negative 10

VDC (W1 shorted pins 1-2). For 0-V to –10-V output, the reference must be positive 10 VDC (W1 shorted

pins 2-3)..."

Would have some possibility that the DAC8820 was broken?
