Hello,
I have been using a DAC3283 for the past two years and just recently had to change from one COTS board to another with a DAC5688. Unfortunately, I am finding the use of the full mixer rather confusing compared to how easy the coarse mixer was in the 3283.
With the DAC3283, I would typically use a 200 MHz data clock with a 200 MHz DAC clock with 2x interpolation, the coarse mixer set to fs/2, and FIR mode set to high pass. That way, with some additional off chip filtering, I could get frequencies between 100-150 MHz out of both channels.
For the new board with the DAC5688 I am hoping to be able to do a similar trick as my boss would like to get a signal at about 230 MHz so we can take a hardware upconverter stage out. So, for a 250 MHz Clk1 and a 500 MHz Clk2 and interpolation set to 2x, I know I need to use the full mixer, however I do not quite understand what to set the NCO. Furthermore, if I use the full mixer, will channels A and B still be isolated?
Thank you for any and all help!
