Forum Post: RE: How does the QMC of DAC work and how to compensate the imbalance of two ADC?

ADC and DACs introduce very minimal phase and gain imbalance and this will be mostly caused by the asymmetries in their differential structure.

Could you please give me some expression about the influence of  imbalance? If the ideal output of two ADC is I + jQ, so what the output will be with the phase and gain imbalance. And how can the phase imbalance be expressed? The Gain is a complex data or a real data?

TheQMC shown in slaa523a.pdf is just the structure, but how it works? When the orignal input is I + Q while phase is arctan mag(Q)/mag(I).And with QMC the output will be  (I+Q*coe) + jQ, the phase will be arctan mag(Q)/mag(II+Q*coe),is the phase change accuratly?

Thanks again.
