Forum Post: ADS131 Power supply sequencing timing requirements

Hello,

I can not find in the datasheet the constraints for the timing in power up / power down sequences. We use single supply operation, beeing AVSS the same potential as DVSS.

Making it concrete: what is the maximum allowable delay between stabilizing of 3.3V against 5.0V while ramping up the power supplies? Separated power supplies never do stabilize exactly at the same time, some time-delays due to load, capacitance or other issues have to be expected.

Same also for power down: when the input voltage to the 3.3 and 5.0V regulators breaks down, the 3.3 and 5.0V rails will discharge also in different time, also due to capacitance & load, etc.

Are there any damages / latch-up to the ADS131E to be expected in any time configuration?

I've read the "Power-Up sequencing" part of the datasheet, but both supplies are shown as one line "Supplies", not going into detail of what happens to the delayed behaviour from one to the other. In "Power-Supply requirements" it is stated that "AVDD-DVDD should be between -2.1 and +3.6V".

What should I take into account in order to assure the ADS131E behaves correctly in all power configurations, without damages?

Many thanks & regards,

Gerardo
