The ADS1278EVM can be used stand-alone to connect to other platform/processors. There is no reason that you couldn't connect it to the MSP430 experimental board. However, this would need to be done via an adapter or blue-wires; make sure to include power to the power header also. You would need to write you software to support all the required signals from the MSP430 to the ADS1278 board. The details of the ADS1278EVM connectors are shown in the schematic that is provided in the back of the user guide.
Also, keep in mind the software is designed for the MMB0, so it will not work with the MSP430 board.
