I need to sense at a distance of 2 inches. Using Webbench with coil 10 which is a 4 layer inductor, 1679.94 uH, you start to top out with respect to Rp vs Distance. Since a small size is important, could I go to an 8 layer board of the same design as above? This should more than double the inductance. Will this help reduce the sloop so that there will be more head room with respect to detecting something 2 inches away? Is there any way to simulate this? I noticed that Webbench does not allow you to enter any components.
Is there a limit on how large the inductor can be?
