Thanks Jim for the useful answer.
I would like to ask you another question concerning FMC connector.
At the moment we are using an FMC2HSMC adapter to connect this board to another FPGA carrier board (Altera) using HSMC connector. As you probably know, HSMC has only 160 pins versus 400 FMC pins. So this adapter use only LPC (Low-pin count, only C,D,G,H banks) connector of FMC (page 50 of FMC ansi/vita standard).
Could we have problem using this adapter? I saw in the standard of FMC that pins VIO_B_M2C are in banks K and J and these banks are not used in LPC. In my opinion VADJ is supplied anyway from the carrier card and passed through adapter to mezzanine in bank H and G, the only thing we are missing in this adapter is the voltage sent back to the carrier card, perhaps not so necessary.
I would like to know if this could be a problem and if is it better to open the bridge in our case, perhaps using only LPC connection opening or closing the bridge doesn't matter, is not connected anyway.
Thanks a lot for your assistance
