Hi,
I will be using the ADS8638 in manual mode to sample channels at two different rates, at 1 MSPS (DVDD = 3v). Most likely they will all be at the same input voltage range, but is there a concern about switching them on the fly that fast?
E.g. 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 4, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 4,etc.
For temperature reads in manual mode, could it be thrown in the above sequence? For the power-on delay, we would probably just turn it on during start-up and leave it on. Is that a concern other than power usage?
From the datasheet on page 34, it isn't clear how a temperature read would work in manual mode. I would want to have a sequence like 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, temp, 1, 2, etc. without a delay. However in figure 88 it looks like there is an extra transaction delay for when you get the temp data. My understanding is for a normal manual mode read, in one transaction you get the previously requested ch data and request the following ch.
Thanks!
James
